What kind of food makes you happy?

I test drove a potential new car (or PNC, as I’ve been calling it in my head—I swear, sorority recruitment is never going away) this evening, and it felt so good to drive a manual transmission again. I’m posting the picture of my new license place holder in lieu of a photo of the car I test drove because I don’t want any of you seeing how cute it is and deciding you want to buy it before I can! This picture isn’t totally random, though—I’m putting this license plate border on my new car (should it be the one I just drove or not) the second I get it.

Today was a very productive day. I did a ton of laundry, vacuumed my room, worked on stuff for my social media gig with a local business, and painted both my nails and toenails. I’m a big nerd, so productive days are a huge hit for me. But that doesn’t exactly give me a good photo/video to use for my happiness post, so instead, I’m giving you my favorite YouTube video: Talking Beaver on the Highway. Enjoy.

Happy Saturday!

My parents and I went out to dinner at Red Robin today, and it was nice and fun and I meant to take a picture of it for today’s happiness photo–and forgot. At dinner, my mom told me that she bought me a present, and it turned out to be this book.

It was pretty much fate that I forgot to take a picture at dinner. Because this book–full of adorable pictures of sloths–definitely made my day. And week. And month.

Lions and rabbits have always been my all-time favorite animals, but sloths are right behind them. I heard about this book a few months ago and wanted to buy it, but completely forgot. My mom is an elementary school teacher and saw this book at their book fair today and knew I had to have it. Not only does it teach you about sloths, but every single page is filled with pictures of sloths. I had a hard time containing myself while I read it. (Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mom!)

Took an impromptu trip to Mt. Pleasant with J to get some remaining things from his apartment. It’s going to be a late night (I’m banking on 5 hours of sleep), but it’s worth it.

Tell me about your day.

I went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with S today (and then made her pose outside so I could take a picture for my blog). After living in a house of 30+ college-age girls and being completely surrounded by people my own age, working in a office full of people older than me (although they are all very nice) has been kind of an adjustment. It was nice to spend an evening with someone under 25.

What did you do today?

When it blooms, this tree in my parents’ front yard never fails to make me smile.

I went to the gym by my work this afternoon and managed to not get lost. AND, by staying at the gym during the heart of rush hour, it took me 45 minutes instead of an hour to get home. Good, good day.

Tell me about your day.

We’re making spaghetti with my parents’ world-famous spaghetti sauce, which I could eat like chili. (Full disclosure: I have eaten full bowls of it before. No shame.) I keep going to stir the sauce and steal pieces of mushrooms, and I am counting down the hours until I have a heaping plate of spaghetti with a huge pile of sauce in front of me. Few things make me as happy as spaghetti does. (Also, today is a day to celebrate my momma, and she makes me pretty darn happy, too.)
